England vs Scotland

My best friend Hannes has eagerly been waiting on my arrival to London for almost a full year. During summer 2017 I went to Hungary for the second time together with Korneel, another friend, and we enjoyed summer there quite good. But my next trip should be Hong Kong during Christmas that year. Instead my next trip became England and Scotland as a little extra.

Actually that is not all, there is something else. It was a girl, yes, a real one and a friendly one. We met through a social  app, like who doesn’t nowadays. After talking with each other for almost 3 months I finally had the courage to ask her if may bring her a visit. And she agreed to my surprise. I asked my best friend if he was free for a couple of days and if his parents could join me on my trip to London. My trip was settled and ready to fulfil.

A few words about that girl, don’t expect anything special really. She is of German descent, raised in Berlin and currently resides in Glasgow, Scotland for her master in history of art and wants to get a PhD there in 2018. I was in Hungary when we started our connection and she practices judo for over 18 years.

England

Rosetta’s Stone, Hadrian’s Wall, …

The British Museum, a must-visit museum in Bloomsbury, London. The Rosetta Stone is in there somewhere. Perfect for rainy days and people who like history. It’s quite big and you can spend a full day in there.

Glasgow’s Botanic Gardens

London

The weather was pretty nice and warm, so I decided to hit the road with my bike again. This time I wanted to explore this gigantic Argex dragline machine just 20 minutes from home standing bulky near a clay pit in Kruibeke. A massively deep pit with water at the bottom, pretty dangerous if you would fall down the edge. I’m smart enough to know what I’m doing and so I keep myself steady while walking near the edge. Climbing this machine was easy and at the top of its nose the view was marvellous and I stayed there for at least half an hour to admire the scenery around me.

Scotland
