Twin Rhino

Follow my footsteps through wild adventures, urban explorations, road trips and much more. I travel to a country or even just a city, the air I breathe is new and it makes me think about what to write, what to do in my life and how to make things better. After a good vacation it is time to collect all the raw material and start creating, sharing and writing intriguing stories.

I explored many places, from Cape Hope to the North Cape, from San Francisco to Hong Kong & Taipei, from neglected places to crowded cities and I will expand my boundaries much further in the near future. I love to share my adventures through this blog.

Travel diary: Hong Kong, winter 2018

Once again I picked Hong Kong for Christmas because 365 days ago I met my other half. She’s sweet and beautiful, simply all I can ever hope for. So, yes my trip to Hong Kong was beyond great and I had 3 weeks to enjoy it to the fullest… and it truly was memorable. A picturesque photo album of my trip.

Travel photography gear guide 2018

Recent Explorations

Tour de la Famenne – The Elevated Restaurant of Belgium

Me and a good friend of mine stumbled upon this urbex treasure while exploring Wallonia, the south part of Belgium, and we were extremely excited to enter such a tall architectural structure on the highway from Marche-en-Famenne to Namur. It was truly worth the visit.

What once was the oldest theme park of Belgium, Dadipark

Dadipark was amzing to visit, we even slept on the parking lot at the back. And best of all experiences was that we arrived on the day of Halloween. Imagine some scary and noisy people entering the park from where we were camping…

Ngong Ping Tea Garden, Hong Kong

The tea garden of Hong Kong was once a great business, but as the last owner passed away, he had no one to take over this time-consuming job.

My Stories

Our dream: making a trebuchet

Our dream was to make a historical war machine. A trebuchet was build to besiege an enemy by man power and with the help of a huge wooden structure to catapult objects toward the enemy. The trebuchet existed from the 4th century BC as a siege weapon until the 13th century. I adore the mechanism and the thought about how those men fought with it during the war.

Alan’s strange habit

A strange habit of mine…
It’s un unstoppable process where I’m going to pass out in the end. It bothers me a lot but I’ll have to deal with it until I die. Fortunately nothing all too serious or bad, just a little issue I truly wish to be different.

My 14 amazing days in Hong Kong

I was invited to Hong Kong by a member of Radio Television Hong kong and all I did was accept the invitation and plan my trip for upcoming December 2017. And I must say it was an awesome trip!

My 10-day trip to Formosa

Now officially known as the Republic of China. A true experience it was, being able to drive an automatic car in cities like Taipei, Taichung and Kaohsiung, for the first time in my life. From cities to mountains and seashores, all very beautiful and interesting. Formosa – January 10, 2016

My 2-week trip to Hungary

I simply fell in love with the country. Budapest is such a beautiful city with many secrets and top-class specialties. Hungary’s countryside is as spectacular as its capital. This trip was a true experience and I kept some Hungarian Forints for next time. Budapest – October 2016
